The Kaiserwinkl in Winter

In winter, the holiday guest will find in our region to over 50 km of ski runs good winter sports for everyone. Along the valley there are numerous ski lifts for skiers. The Unterberghorn above Kössen with an altitude of 1700 meters offers skiers and snowboarders of all levels downhill runs of nearly 1,000 meters. The valley is equipped in a length of 20 km with artificial snow. Snow conditions are good from early December to late March. Several huts with magnificent panorama of the wide valley and the rock walls of the Kaiser mountain range are great places to stop off.

Hang gliders and paragliders find that the cable car to the Unterberghorn offers excellent start options. In the Kaiserwinkl several ski schools take care of the skiing stars. Paragliders and hang gliders have in Hochkössen great opportunities to further their knowledge and skills.

Besides skiing, the Kaiserwinkl offers a lot to the entusiastic cross-country skier. The cross-country trail area in Kössen-Schwendt with its 140 km of excellent prepared trails belongs to the most beautiful ski areas in Tyrol. The gentle landscape offers a variety of trails for all levels. Several ski centers in the valley offer special courses for cross country skiers. Very enthusiastic cross-country trail guests have the possibility to purchase a Skiwandermedaille - entry cards are available at the Tourist Office.

In addition, the winter tourist will find contemplative walks with over 80 km of winter hiking trails in the white winter landscape, overlooking the impressive heights of the Wilden and Zahmen Kaiser. Numerous Restaurants by the roadside invite you to warm yourself up.
